1. Who can play in the Northborough Youth Basketball Association?

Any child who is a Northborough resident in Grades 1-8. Remember that unlike baseball and soccer,
basketball leagues are dictated by the grade your child is currently in for the Winter league, and ENTERING in the fall for our Summer league.

2. When do the seasons run?

Winter Season runs for 10 weeks beginning in the first week of December. Travel team tryouts are in early to mid-October and start practices thereafter.

Summer Season starts the second week of July until the end of August. It is a combination of instructional basketball and games. Teams are selected on a weekly basis. See the Summer Basketball section for more details.

3. When are the Winter league games played?

Grades 1-2 are played Mon-Fri: 6:30-8:00pm at Proctor, Zeh, & Peaslee.
Grades 3-4, 5-6 are played on Sat: 8:00am-1:00pm at Zeh or Town Hall.
Grades 7-8 are played on Mon-Tues: 6:00-9:00pm at MMS.

4. When can I register my child?

Registration for the Winter season begins in early August and are closed in mid-October. Late fees will be charged for the next couple weeks, but then registration has to close to make teams.

5. How do I register my child in the NYBA?

Visit our website and click on the registration box, then simply follow the instructions. We accept M/C and VISA on our registration site.

6. What is the cancellation policy?
That depends upon the timing of the request.
a. Injured players before 5 games, Full Refund.   After 5 games it is prorated.
b. Non injured players during registration, full refund.  After registration,  but before team assignment $25 admin fee.   After team assignment, no refund.

7. How are the recreation teams picked?

 

Once the registration is completed, the NYBA board will assign recreational league teams so as to keep it as fair and balanced as possible. We try to honor requests for placement, but cannot guarantee all requests.
